Janine Giddy Football Tournament, hosted by Taupo AFC at Crown Park on March 8th and 9th, 2025.

This two-day event will bring together women’s teams from the Central, Northern, and Waikato/Bay of Plenty regions. The goal is to provide teams with the chance to face clubs from outside their region as well as those within to prepare for the upcoming year.

It’s a great opportunity for pre-season preparation and team bonding over a fun weekend of football with like-minded women.

The tournament is open to:

• W-League
• Waikato Division 1 & 2
• Bay 1 & 2
• Other equivalent regional leagues

The competition will be structured to ensure teams face opponents of similar skill levels, making it ideal for season preparation.

Taupo is a fantastic destination for the weekend, with opportunities for lake swimming and hot pool recovery. We will also host a social gathering at a local bar in the CBD.

Cost: $400 per team, which includes a minimum of 5 games, referees, and linesmen for all matches.
