The LOTTO Northern Region Football League 2025 fixtures have been released today.
The pinnacle competitions for Northern Region Football and Waikato Bay of Plenty clubs kick off on the weekend of 22 March.
Stopping Auckland United is the big challenge for LOTTO NRFL Women’s Premiership teams. Unbeaten for over 500 days and 49 matches, the champions have retained the bulk of their squad and will be tough to beat, while managing a trip to the OFC Women’s Champions League. West Coast Rangers, Western Springs and Eastern Suburbs all look likely challengers, with promoted Tauranga Moana looking to establish themselves at this level.
The LOTTO NRFL Men’s Championship features four WaiBOP clubs, with newly promoted Cambridge joining Melville United, Hamilton Wanderers and Ngaruawahia United. They’ll be pushed hard by Manukau United, who almost went the distance in 2024, alongside a number of traditionally strong Auckland clubs vying for the title and promotion to the Northern League.
“It’s tremendous to see clubs choosing a variety of kick off times, including some mid week fixtures, the successful Friday night matches and men’s and women’s double headers – they’re a great way to engage club members and attract communities to matches and clubrooms. With plenty of player and coach movements over the summer, the competition for titles will be higher than ever,” said LOTTO NRFL competitions manager Mike Corbett.
Waiheke United have withdrawn from the LOTTO NRFL Northern Conference, with Beachlands Maraetai accepting this place in the competition. Waiheke United will now take Beachlands Maraetai’s spot in NRF League One for the 2025 season.
