
New Zealand Football has announced the New Zealand Football Pasifika in Football Leadership Programme and the New Zealand Football Pasifika Coach Developer course. Our Region has four spots in both the Leadership and Coaching Programmes.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest for both programmes, closing on the 25th of April.
New Zealand Football Pasifika Community Coach Developer
Purpose
The Pasifika Coach Developer course aims to provide Pasifika leaders who are passionate about coaching
and coach development the tools to lead and deliver community coach development to their local Pasifika
communities.
Programme Overview
The course will bring Pasifika coaching leaders from across Aotearoa together to connect and upskill
through the NZF Community Coach Educator Course. The program aligns with NZF’s strategic priority of
Strengthening Capability and Leadership across Football and supports the strategic measure of leadership
in all levels of affiliated football reflects the demographic make-up of New Zealand.
Programme delivery
The programme with be delivered by NZF advanced coach developers including a developer with Pasifika
heritage. The programme is delivered over 2 days, and the costs are fully supported by NZF. The only cost
to the participant is their time.
Proposed Dates: 31st May and 1st June 2025 (2x full days)
Location: Auckland
Cost: All costs are covered by NZF (Flights, accommodation, meals
transfers and course costs)
New Zealand Football Pasifika in Football Leadership programme
Purpose
Our Pasifika in Football Leadership programme aims to identify and develop the next generation of Pasifika leaders who will help shape the future of Football in New Zealand.
Programme Overview
In essence, the programme seeks to provide opportunities for Pasifika Peoples to contribute to the future of football, both in terms of leadership and community engagement, while fostering a deeper sense of belonging and purpose within the sport. It aims to help individuals step into roles that will allow them to influence, shape, and positively impact the sport for years to come.
What is in it for the Participant:
• Becoming part of a leadership community of Pasifika leaders who want to increase their personal
and impact growing Pasifika representation.
• Gaining the space to connect and learn from Pasifika peers, building a high trust network in
football, and the opportunity to hear from guest speakers and explore relevant case studies.
• Experiencing a mind-set shift in your ability to seek out leadership and personal development
opportunities to gain experience and develop their career.
• Exploring some of the unique challenges faced by Pasifika within the sector.
• Gaining the skills to deliver your own leadership workshops within your community/region
